[6] The Frog
Jane Singhal
Lazy little frog
Rockin’ in the shadow
Of the willow trees
Driftin’ on a pad
With a cattail breeze
Sleepin’ to the sound
Of the bluejay’s tease.
Lazy little frog, lazy little frog, lazy little….frog!
[7] The Miller
French
The miller fell asleep, but his wheel keeps on turning
The miller fell asleep, but his wheel will not stop.
Oh, the wheel, oh, the wheel keeps on turning
Oh, the wheel, oh the wheel will not stop!
Meunier, tu dors, ton moulin va trop vite,
Meunier, tu dors, ton moulin va trop fort.
Ton moulin, ton moulin va trop vite,
Ton moulin, ton moulin va trop fort!
Movement: Children roll hoops slowly for the first section and
fast for the second. For older children, substitute the term allegro
(fast) in the third and fourth lines—“Oh, the wheel, oh, the wheel
goes allegro…” May also be used as a circle dance, alternating
slow and fast as the tempo changes.
